...a year in review type quiz!

I ruthlessly stole this quiz from The Late Bloomer, I feel its a good (read lazy) way to sum up the past year!

1. What was the best thing that happened to you personally in 2008?
This one is easy - I married my lovely husband in August. I, the girl who was never getting married, could not be happier. It's a lovely feeling, knowing you will spend the rest of your life with someone. On top of that, my in-laws are lovely people, who see me as part of their family.

2. What was the worst thing that happened to you personally in 2008?
I've lost two family members, one very close to Christmas. People dying is always hard, but lovely people dying at a family oriented time of year is particularly hard.

3. What was the best thing to happen to all of us in 2008?
Obama winning the US presidency. It wont solve all the worlds problems, but at least he is intelligent, and hopefully won't go about starting wars for no reason.

4. What was the worst thing to happen to all of us in 2008?
Our economy's continuing collapse. That and it being blatantly obvious that when it comes down to it, our governments are money and power driven, and won't help people who really need it, whilst they help attack countries for the sake of gaining more oil.

5. What was the best gift you received during the ’08 holidays?
My new sewing machine, a few days off work, time to spend with my husband and family.

6. What was the best gift (most appropriate or best received) you gave during the ’08 holidays?
I gave Dave a violin, and he loves it, it makes him so happy.

7. Do you have any regrets about what you did in 2008?
I let work and uni pressure get on top of me, and let my life revolve around them. I was always tired and therefor nippy with people I shouldn't have been.

8. Do you have any regrets about what you didn’t do in 2008?
Not seeing my family enough. I rarely have days off, and when I do, they are spent doing work for Uni, but I feel guilty still.

9. Did you meet anyone that became important to you in 2008?
I met our friend Katie, she has become important to me.

Do you have any great/not-so-great moments from 2008?

Great - getting married, going on honeymoon, finishing placement and 2nd year of uni, actually getting into 3rd year, seeing Gaslight Anthem and Alkaline Trio.

Not-so-great - being grumpy alot, letting work and uni consume me, losing family members.

... feels Christmas-tastic!

This term of Uni finished for me on Wednesday past. I don't have to get up at 6 am for three weeks!

I will have to get up at 7.30 for work on some days, BUT tomorrow is my day off - the first one in a long time in which I don't have Uni work to do!!

My lovely husband and I will be sleeping late, going to the Christmas Market in Glasgow and then putting up our Christmas tree!

I hope everyone else is having holiday fun!

...has been tagged!

The rather lovely Lisa, of Happily Ever After in Seattle has tagged me. My name sharer from across the pond is rather fantastic, go take a look-see!(Sorry it took so long Lisa-E, essays got in the way!)

So, here's how it goes
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random, arbitrary things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let each person know they’ve been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

And here's how random I actually am

1. When I lend people books, if they turn the corners down on pages, it really annoys me. It's my book, how dare people mess it up?!

2. I only like drinking tea form a giant tea-cup. If you give me a mug, I won't enjoy it as much.

3. I occasionally sell paintings/drawings, though I haven't done for a while.

4. I am a bit OCD when it comes to things matching. Everything must match, either clothes-wise or in rooms in my house.

5. I am quite drastically soppy, and cry at happy endings in films.

6. I love all Christmas films, and Christmas episodes of sitcoms.

And for the six people I shall tag(sorry folks, them's the rules).

1. My lovely sister Hazel
2. My Husband the rock star scientist
3. Luisa, provided of the lovely recipes
4. Z, scientist extraordinaire
5. Jill, maker of wonnderstuffs!
6.And last but not least Tea more of the good foods!
